Danny Welbeck Celebrates Milestone Goal in Premier League Victory
Danny Welbeck recently achieved a significant milestone by scoring his 100th career goal during a Premier League match against Manchester United. This achievement came as Welbeck’s team secured a thrilling victory, with Joao Pedro netting a stoppage-time winner after Amad Diallo had equalized for United.
After the match, Welbeck praised the depth of attacking talent available to manager Fabian Hurzeler. He remarked, ‘Every single attacking player has got their own ability that they can bring; everyone is special in their own way.’ Welbeck acknowledged the healthy competition among players, noting that it was a ‘great headache’ for the gaffer to manage.
Welbeck expressed pride in reaching this century of goals against the club where he began his career, winning two Premier League titles. Looking ahead, he mentioned his upcoming match against Arsenal, another one of his former clubs, with anticipation.
Feeling good and strong despite past injuries, Welbeck reflected on his journey, stating, ‘It’s a bit crazy how it swings around in circles. I wish I’d got to this century a lot quicker.’ He emphasized his readiness to continue scoring and contributing to his team’s success.
Joao Pedro also spoke after the match, highlighting the confidence instilled by manager Hurzeler. He stressed the importance of believing in themselves while facing formidable opponents like Manchester United. Pedro commented, ‘We need to believe in ourselves… everyone wants to show our power.’ He noted that the team’s focus now shifts to their next big challenge.
