PITTSBURGH, PANFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains a free agent as he weighs his options two days before the NFL draft, raising speculation about a potential signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to NFL Insider Mike Silver, former teammate Davante Adams believes Rodgers seeks a strong show of interest from any prospective team.

Adams shared insights with Silver, stating, “I think Aaron wants someone to roll out the red carpet for him. That is what he is looking for.” Adams is unsure if the Steelers currently intend to meet those expectations.

Rodgers, a four-time MVP who has experienced a tumultuous exit from the New York Jets, explained earlier that personal matters are taking precedence over football at this time. Despite these claims, Adams suggests that Rodgers’ desire for a special recruitment might be influencing his decision to remain unsigned.

“It felt to me like Aaron would love to be swept off his feet,” Adams noted. These sentiments may stem from Rodgers’ difficult meeting with Jets management, which he described as disrespectful after he was informed the team was moving in a different direction.

Rodgers, 41, has held discussions with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin but hasn’t signed a contract, citing the need for clear commitment from any team he considers.

The Steelers appear to be the only team persistently pursuing Rodgers, but until they demonstrate a significant commitment, the path to securing the veteran quarterback remains uncertain. As the NFL draft approaches, both Adams’ comments and Rodgers’ past experiences may play a crucial role in determining his future in the league.
