Davante Adams Signs Two-Year Deal with Rams Ahead of Free Agency

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams officially signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, as the team announced. The deal, which is valued at $46 million with $26 million guaranteed, comes just days before the NFL’s free agency period begins.
At 32 years old, Adams joins the Rams during a significant transitional phase for the franchise. The team is reportedly looking to trade former All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp, making Adams’ arrival even more timely. Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is set to enter his third season with the Rams, gains a seasoned playmaker in Adams as they aim to boost the franchise’s championship aspirations.
Adams enjoyed a successful stint with the New York Jets last season after being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders. Over 11 games, he recorded 67 catches for 854 yards and seven touchdowns. This performance continued his streak of exceeding 1,000 receiving yards for five consecutive seasons, even as he adjusted to a new environment following the mid-season trade.
Initially drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2014, Adams spent eight years in Green Bay, where he developed a strong rapport with Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He ranks second in Packers history with 93 touchdown receptions and fourth with 8,121 receiving yards. Adams earned his latest Pro Bowl selection during his time with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Adams’ signing indicates the Rams’ intentions to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving league, as they prepare to enter the 2025 season. With a lack of clarity surrounding Kupp’s future, Adams offers an experienced addition to an injury-plagued receiving corps.
As the NFL’s legal tampering window opens on March 10 and free agency begins on March 12, teams are gearing up for a busy offseason. The Rams aim to finalize their roster and capitalize on Adams’ exceptional talent as they look to redeem themselves from a disappointing previous season.
