David Andrews New England Patriots Retirement

Foxborough, MassachusettsDavid Andrews, the former center for the New England Patriots, announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday. The two-time Super Bowl champion emphasized his desire to remain loyal to the team he played for over a decade.

During a press conference, Andrews explained that he didn’t want to join another organization to end his career. ‘I didn’t want to go do it for another organization,’ he said, according to ESPN. ‘That wasn’t what I had in mind to finish my career. I wanted to finish it here and I did.’

Andrews spent 10 seasons with the Patriots, playing a pivotal role on the offensive line during the latter part of the Tom Brady era. He was among the last players connected to that successful period when he was released in March.

Following his departure, the Patriots signed Garrett Bradbury, a former center for the Minnesota Vikings, and selected center Jared Wilson from Georgia in the third round of the NFL Draft. The team also released long snapper Joe Cardona, marking a significant shift from the past.

With Andrews gone, the Patriots are set to establish a new identity under head coach Mike Vrabel and rookie quarterback Drake Maye. They aim to bounce back after finishing their last two seasons with a record of 4-13.
