David Ruiz Inter Miami Soccer Injury Recovery

MIAMI, Fla. — David Ruiz, a 21-year-old midfielder for Inter Miami, is nearing the final stages of his recovery from injury ahead of upcoming crucial matches for both his club and the Honduras national team. Ruiz sustained an injury during a Concacaf Champions League match against Cavalier in Jamaica, just prior to Honduras’s scheduled matches against Bermuda.

According to Argentine coach Javier Mascherano, Ruiz is addressing an issue with his calves that required treatment. His recent troubles involved hamstring issues, which are unrelated to his earlier exit from a match after 25-30 minutes due to injury. “It will be about a month since he has been off the field since his last game on March 13, yet we have learned that he is at the tail end of his recovery and will soon be back with the team alongside stars like Lionel Messi,” Mascherano said.

Throughout the current MLS season, Ruiz has only logged 74 minutes of play over three appearances, but with the season just starting, he has plenty of game time ahead to contribute to his team’s efforts.
