Houston Vehicle Crash And Plane Crash

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A major vehicle crash on Interstate 10 left at least one person dead late Monday night, according to local officials. The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. near the Waco Street exit, where a vehicle was reported to have caught fire.

Houston police and fire crews responded swiftly to the scene, where Transtar cameras captured smoke rising from the burning vehicle. However, details surrounding the crash remain scarce as authorities have not disclosed how many vehicles were involved or the circumstances leading to the accident.

In a separate incident, Chambers County, Texas, authorities reported the deaths of a man and his grandson after their small plane went down over the weekend. The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a potential aircraft down at 10:37 p.m. Saturday near FM 1724. The aircraft, identified as a red and white low-wing ‘Commander,’ was believed to be occupied by Larry Motte, a grandfather from La Porte, Texas, and his juvenile grandson.

The aircraft last transmitted data at approximately 4:57 p.m. on Saturday, indicating a sudden loss in altitude. Search efforts utilizing drones, helicopters, and ground crews continued throughout the night until the plane was discovered in a remote area on Sunday morning, where both occupants were tragically found deceased.

The investigation into the plane crash has been handed over to federal authorities, who are expected to look into the cause of the crash thoroughly.
