DeMar DeRozan Struggles in Kings’ Dominant Win Over Warriors
DeMar DeRozan had an uncharacteristically quiet night, scoring just 12 points on 5-of-14 shooting, as the Sacramento Kings cruised to a 129-99 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. Despite his struggles, the Kings extended their winning streak to four games under interim head coach Doug Christie.
DeRozan, who logged 31 minutes, added one assist and one steal but failed to connect from beyond the arc, going 0-for-4 on three-point attempts. His performance marked a significant drop-off from his 29-point outing against the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in the week. The return of Keegan Murray, who often shares the court with DeRozan, may have contributed to the veteran forward’s reduced production, as the two players have occasionally shown negative correlation in their roles.
The Kings’ offense, however, didn’t miss a beat. Malik Monk and Domantas Sabonis led the charge, with Monk providing a spark off the bench and Sabonis controlling the paint. The team shot 52% from the field and outrebounded the Warriors 52-38, showcasing their depth and versatility.
