Denver Broncos’ New Wide Receivers: Fresh Talent Steps Up
In an effort to bolster their offensive lineup, the Denver Broncos have recently welcomed two new wide receivers, Troy Franklin and Devaughn Vele, into their ranks. The selections came after the Broncos made Oregon quarterback Bo Nix their first-round draft pick earlier this year.
Franklin, picked in the fourth round from Oregon, and Vele, a seventh-round pick from Utah, showcased their potential in the recent contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. Troy Franklin celebrated a touchdown, marking his first scoring connection as an NFL player with quarterback Bo Nix. Meanwhile, Devaughn Vele led the team with an impressive 78 receiving yards.
Bo Nix expressed his excitement about the fresh talent, stating, “We’re excited about those two. They’ve had great camps; they’ve had great seasons. They practice hard. They’re very smart players. They showed up today and played big in an important moment.”
Nix further highlighted their readiness and potential impact on the team’s future. “[I’m] excited to see their growth as they continue to move forward. With those two, we’re going to have to count on and we need moving forward. They’re completely capable and ready to accept the challenge, and I’m excited to see it,” Nix added.
The opportunities for Franklin and Vele are set to increase as veteran wide receiver Josh Reynolds has been placed on injured reserve. This development could see both players taking on more significant roles as the season progresses.
