The Denver Broncos have made a significant roster move by waiving tight end Greg Dulcich, as reported in the NFL‘s transaction report on Monday. Dulcich, a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft from UCLA, had a promising start to his career but was plagued by injuries and inconsistent performance.

Dulcich had a notable rookie season, catching 33 passes for 411 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games. However, his sophomore season was marred by hamstring injuries that limited him to just two games. This season, he was inactive for the team’s last eight games, managing only five catches for 28 yards in the first four weeks.

The decision to waive Dulcich comes as the Broncos need to make room on their roster. Specifically, they need a space to activate linebacker Drew Sanders from injured reserve by Wednesday’s deadline. As of now, Dulcich’s roster spot remains unfilled.

If no team claims Dulcich by 3pm CT on Tuesday, he will become a free agent. His rookie contract with the Broncos was set to run through 2025).
