Denver Native Wyndham Clark Joins Denver Nuggets in Celebration of U.S. Open Victory
Denver native Wyndham Clark shared in the glory of his U.S. Open victory with the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night. Clark was warmly welcomed courtside as the Nuggets claimed a 113-100 victory over the New York Knicks in Denver.
The golf champion engaged in a friendly exchange with DeAndre Jordan, a star player for the Nuggets, before the game commenced. The fans captured the moment as Clark posed with his U.S. Open trophy alongside the prestigious Naismith Trophy earned by the Nuggets in their historic NBA championship win last year.
Wyndham Clark, hailing from Denver, is an alumnus of Valor Christian High School, where he honed his golf skills. Notable alumni from the same school include Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers. Clark’s golf journey began with a high school state title victory as a sophomore, followed by a dominant senior year where he clinched the title with remarkable back-to-back 64s, winning by an impressive eight-stroke margin.
Clark’s talent on the golf course shone early on, evident when he captured the 2009 Colorado Junior Stroke Play Championship at just 15 years old, triumphing by an exceptional 11-stroke lead. The following year, he secured a victory at the CGA Stroke Play Championship, making him the tournament’s youngest champion since 1971. Noteworthy, Clark also emerged victorious at the Pac-12 Championship seven years later while representing the University of Oregon, where he continued to showcase his golfing prowess at the prestigious Boulder Country Club.
