Aaron Gordon Denver Nuggets Contract Extension

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon has agreed to a significant contract extension, solidifying his future with the team. The four-year, $133 million deal was confirmed by Klutch Sports‘ representatives Calvin Andrews, Rich Paul, and Elise Gordon.

The contract includes a player option for the 2028-29 season and a trade kicker. Gordon will opt in on his $23 million salary for the 2025-26 season and then add three additional years at his maximum salary, including bonuses. This move is crucial for the Nuggets, especially after losing key player Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the Orlando Magic in free agency this summer.

Gordon, 29, has been a vital component of the Nuggets’ success, particularly in their 2023 championship season. He averaged 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 55.6% from the field in the 2023-24 season. His versatile two-way ability has made him an indispensable part of the team, alongside stars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Gordon has also made a personal tribute by changing his jersey number from No. 50 to No. 32 to honor his older brother Drew Gordon, who passed away in a car accident in May.
