Derrick Rose Inspires Young Players at Adidas Eurocamp 2025

Treviso, Italy — Derrick Rose, the former NBA MVP and Chicago Bulls star, made a significant appearance at the 2025 Adidas Eurocamp, where he shared valuable insights with aspiring basketball players. The camp took place on June 2, and Rose discussed his life after basketball, the lessons he learned during his career, and the importance of mental toughness.
In an exclusive interview with HoopsHype, Rose reflected on his journey, emphasizing that he wants to inspire the next generation. “It’s dope coming over and seeing the kids work hard and seeing how dedicated they are,” he said. “It lets me know that the game is growing.”
Rose, who retired from the NBA before the 2024-25 season, was the youngest MVP in league history during the 2010-11 season. He averaged 25.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.7 assists that year and is known for his resilience in overcoming injuries throughout his career.
At the Eurocamp, he advised young players about the three levels necessary for a successful NBA career: the good, the bad, and the ugly. “If you could stay focused on the first two, the bad and the ugly, you can have a long career,” Rose stated.
During the interview, Rose also revealed that his greatest player of all time (G.O.A.T.) is not Michael Jordan, whom he admired, but Isiah Thomas. “I mean, my G.O.A.T. now is Isiah Thomas because he’s from Chicago,” he explained. “He’s the only guy who beat Magic [Johnson], Mike [Jordan], and [Larry] Bird all in their prime at 6-3.”
Rose’s candid approach and messages of purpose resonated with the young athletes, highlighting his commitment to support the basketball community in his hometown. He aims to show them that perseverance can lead to success, no matter the obstacles faced.
As Derrick Rose moves into this next chapter of his life, his influence on young players continues to grow, reminding them that dreams are achievable with hard work and dedication.
