CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Moussa Diabate delivered an efficient performance off the bench Wednesday night, recording 10 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists in just 22 minutes during the Charlotte Hornets‘ 112-102 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The third-year center made the most of his limited opportunities, going a perfect 2-for-2 from the field and 6-for-8 from the free-throw line. This marked his fourth double-digit scoring effort in the last five games, showcasing his consistency despite minimal shot attempts.
Diabate’s rebounding prowess was on full display as he led the Hornets on the glass, securing his fourth double-double of the season and his second in the last four games. His ability to contribute in limited minutes has been a bright spot for Charlotte, particularly in bench rotations.
However, Diabate remains firmly behind starting center Mark Williams in the team’s rotation. Despite his solid production, especially on the boards, his role as a reserve limits his overall impact on the court.
The Hornets struggled to contain the Bucks’ offense, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard combining for 58 points. Charlotte’s loss dropped them to 15-35 on the season, while Milwaukee improved to 35-15.
Diabate’s performance continues to highlight his potential as a reliable contributor off the bench. “Moussa brings energy and effort every time he steps on the floor,” Hornets head coach Steve Clifford said after the game. “He’s been a consistent presence for us, especially on the defensive end and with his rebounding.”
As the Hornets look to rebuild and develop young talent, Diabate’s growth will be a key storyline to watch. His ability to maximize his minutes could earn him more opportunities as the season progresses.
