Diamondbacks-Braves Game Delayed by Rain in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. — The Arizona Diamondbacks‘ game against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday was delayed due to inclement weather at Truist Park. The game was originally scheduled to begin at 4:15 p.m. but was pushed back.
The Braves announced the delay shortly before the first pitch, stating they would provide updates as necessary. After some uncertainty, the game is now expected to start around 8:20 p.m. ET, depending on weather conditions.
Arizona won the series opener against Atlanta on Tuesday, triumphing 8-3. Pitcher Zac Gallen‘s strong performance included seven innings with only one earned run, while teammates Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte contributed two home runs each.
Tonight, right-hander Merrill Kelly is set to pitch for the Diamondbacks, opposed by left-hander Chris Sale, who was the 2024 NL Cy Young award winner. Sale has been effective lately, allowing no more than two earned runs in his past eight starts, with a current season ERA of 3.06.
Both teams are eager for a win, with the Braves struggling recently, losing nine of their last twelve games. Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks are not faring much better, losing seven of their last ten contests. The teams are concluding this series with a quick turnaround set for Thursday at 12:15 p.m. ET.
The weather forecast indicates that the rain should clear by around 9 p.m. ET, allowing the game to proceed as planned. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates.
