Diontae Johnson Expected to Play for Panthers Against Falcons Despite Ankle Injury
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Diontae Johnson is anticipated to play in the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, despite being listed as questionable due to an ankle injury. Johnson, who has been a key player for the Panthers, has been dealing with various injuries, including a groin strain sustained during the summer and a recent ankle issue.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Johnson is expected to be in uniform for the game on Sunday. This comes after Johnson participated in a limited capacity in all three of the Panthers’ practice sessions this week.
Johnson currently leads the Panthers with 262 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 23 receptions from 45 targets. His presence is crucial, especially after a quiet performance in Week 5 where he recorded just three catches for 23 yards in the Panthers’ 36-10 loss to the Chicago Bears.
The game against the Falcons is set for Sunday at 4:25 PM ET and will be broadcast on FOX. Johnson’s availability is a significant boost for the Panthers as they face a divisional opponent.
