Diontae Johnson Nfl Wide Receiver

Cleveland, OH – Wide receiver Diontae Johnson is on the verge of potentially joining the Cleveland Browns, marking a significant chapter in his tumultuous NFL career. Johnson previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, and he visited the Browns as he searches for a new team ahead of the upcoming offseason activities.

Since being drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Johnson’s career has faced numerous challenges. He spent a brief period with the Carolina Panthers before being traded to the Ravens. During his time in Baltimore, Johnson struggled, refusing to enter a game, which led to his suspension and eventual release.

His next stop was a short stay with the Houston Texans, where he also had difficulty securing a spot on the roster. In total, Johnson caught just two passes for 12 yards in one game with the Texans and only one pass for six yards over four games with the Ravens. After signing with the Steelers, he showcased talent as a strong route runner and made impressive catches but became known for drops and mental errors.

As the NFL draft has concluded, it appears unlikely that the Ravens will receive a compensatory pick for Johnson in 2026, which adds urgency to his search for a new team. Johnson, who will turn 29 in July, has limited opportunities left to revive his career. The Browns may provide the chance he needs, but it remains to be seen if they are willing to take another chance on him.
