Madrid Open 2025 Tennis Tournament

Madrid, Spain – The 2025 Madrid Open is underway, featuring some of the world’s best tennis players. On Wednesday, April 23, Novak Djokovic is projected to meet Britain’s Jack Draper in the quarter-finals if both players advance.

After receiving a bye in the first round, Djokovic, a three-time champion in Madrid, is looking to secure his 100th ATP Tour title. His opening match will be against either Matteo Arnaldi or qualifier Borna Coric.

Meanwhile, Draper faces a tough path ahead, starting with his first match against Martin Landaluce. The young Brit aims to showcase his skills after a strong performance in this year’s tournaments.

The tournament has kicked off in the Caja Mágica, running from April 22 to May 4, and defending champions Andrey Rublev and Iga Swiatek are also in action. Rublev is set to meet Gael Monfils in the second round, while Swiatek enters as a favorite.

On the women’s side, Emma Raducanu secured a solid victory against Suzan Lamens in the first round and is scheduled to play Marta Kostyuk next. Raducanu, ranked No. 49 in the world, is looking to build momentum after reaching the quarter-finals at the Miami Open last month.

“I feel good heading into this tournament,” Raducanu said. “I’ve been working hard and hope to perform well on the clay.”

Aryna Sabalenka, the world No. 1, could be Raducanu’s potential opponent in the quarter-finals if both players advance. The stakes are high as players aim for essential ranking points leading to the French Open.

Fans are eagerly following the action, with matches broadcasted on Sky Sports in the UK and the Tennis Channel in the U.S., providing multiple viewing options for tennis enthusiasts worldwide.

As the tournament progresses, Djokovic’s road could lead to a highly anticipated clash with Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals, adding to the excitement of the Madrid Open.
