Djokovic One Win Away From 100th ATP Title

GENEVA, Switzerland — Novak Djokovic advanced to the final of the Geneva Open on Friday, putting him one win away from his 100th career singles title on the ATP Tour. The 24-time Grand Slam champion defeated Britain’s Cameron Norrie with scores of 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-1 in the semifinals.
Djokovic, who turned 38 recently, will face Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz in the final on Saturday. Hurkacz, ranked 31st, defeated Austrian Sebastian Ofner 6-3, 6-4 in his semifinal match.
The semifinals provided Djokovic with valuable match practice ahead of the French Open, scheduled to start on Sunday. He aims to regain his form after a shaky start to the year, where he has struggled with just a 13-7 record and is yet to win a title in 2025.
During the semifinal, Djokovic faced a challenging second set, trailing 5-2 before rallying to win three consecutive games. He even held a match point in the tiebreaker but netted a return, allowing Norrie to push the match into a deciding set. Ultimately, Djokovic gained momentum with an early break in the third set, leading to a decisive victory.
“Every match is important as I prepare for Roland-Garros,” said Djokovic. “I am focused and ready to compete at my best.
Should Djokovic secure a win on Saturday, he will join legends Roger Federer and Jimmy Connors as only the third player to reach 100 titles in the Open Era.
