Dodgers Aim for NLCS Sweep in Game 3 Against Brewers
Los Angeles, CA — The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to host the Milwaukee Brewers for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) on Thursday night, looking to clinch a series sweep and a fifth trip to the World Series in nine years.
The Dodgers come into the game with a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. They showcased dominating pitching performances in Games 1 and 2, allowing only one run and four hits over 17 innings. Starter Tyler Glasnow will take the mound for Los Angeles, facing Brewers’ Aaron Ashby, who is expected to start a bullpen game.
Dodger Stadium will be buzzing as the game begins at 6:08 p.m. ET. Los Angeles got off to a strong start, as Glasnow worked through a difficult first inning, walking William Contreras and allowing an infield single to Christian Yelich, but managed to leave them stranded.
Shohei Ohtani, who has seen struggles at the plate, took extra measures the day before Game 3 by practicing on the field, an uncommon move during the postseason. “The postseason is like a street fight… there’s urgency,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, emphasizing the need for adjustments in high-stakes games.
In the previous game, the Dodgers’ pitching was remarkable, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto delivering a notable performance by facing the minimum number of batters through eight innings. “That’s probably the two best back-to-back games pitched ever that I’ve seen,” remarked catcher Will Smith, echoing the team’s confidence heading into Game 3.
As the Dodgers look to capitalize on their current momentum, the Brewers must regroup quickly to avoid elimination. Last making it to the World Series in 1983, Milwaukee is determined to fight back. Game 3 marks a critical point in their postseason journey.
