Dodgers Finalize World Series Roster: Key Additions and Injuries
The Los Angeles Dodgers have finalized their roster for the 2024 World Series, which is set to begin against the New York Yankees. Several key players are making their way back onto the roster after dealing with injuries. Veteran shortstop Miguel Rojas, who missed the NLCS due to an adductor injury and sports hernia, is expected to be included in the World Series roster.
In addition to Rojas, injured relievers Alex Vesia and Brusdar Graterol are likely to be added to the Dodgers’ bullpen. Vesia has been recovering from an intercostal injury, and his inclusion will fortify the team’s already strong relief corps.
Evan Phillips, however, will not be part of the roster due to an injury. His absence will be felt, but the Dodgers are confident in their depth and the versatility of their players.
The Dodgers’ starting pitching has been a concern, with Jack Flaherty set to start Game 1 against the Yankees’ Gerrit Cole. Flaherty had an excellent regular season but has struggled in the postseason, while Cole has been solid despite missing the first half of the year due to an elbow injury.
The team’s roster decisions reflect their strategy of valuing versatility and making use of their entire roster based on matchups. Players like Chris Taylor, who has significant postseason experience, are expected to play crucial roles off the bench.
