Dodgers Vs Mets Nlcs 2024

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets are set to meet in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) for only the second time in history. The last encounter between these two teams in this series occurred 36 years ago, in 1988. During that series, the Dodgers emerged victorious with a 4-3 win, eventually securing the World Series title against the Oakland Athletics.

The Dodgers, having claimed the World Series championship again in 2020, are now vying for another title. On the other hand, the Mets are in pursuit of their third Major League Baseball (MLB) championship. Their last triumph came in 1986 when they achieved a memorable victory over the Boston Red Sox.

Los Angeles secured its position in the NLCS after defeating the San Diego Padres in a five-game series. The Dodgers, who concluded the regular season with the league’s best record, will be hosting the first game of this matchup.

During the regular season, the Dodgers overcame the Mets by winning four of their six encounters. However, the Mets managed to clinch two out of three games during their regular-season visit to Dodger Stadium. In contrast, the Dodgers swept the Mets in a three-game series at Citi Field in New York. Those defeats left the Mets with one of the worst records in the league at that time, at 22-33. Nevertheless, the Mets managed an impressive turnaround, posting a league-best record of 67-40 for the remainder of the season.

Game 4 of the best-of-seven series is scheduled for Friday, October 18, at Citi Field in New York. The game is set to begin at 2:08 p.m. Pacific Time (5:08 p.m. Eastern Time) and will be broadcast on FOX and FS1. As of now, the Dodgers hold a 3-1 advantage in the series, putting them just one win away from securing the NLCS title.
