Dodgers Shift Roster Ahead of Marlins Game

Dodgers Players In Action

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Los Angeles Dodgers will open their game against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday with Jack Dreyer starting in a bullpen role. This decision follows the optioning of Noah Davis to Triple-A Oklahoma City and the recall of Matt Sauer.

Davis, who was part of the Dodgers roster since April 18, has faced challenges this season with a 10.13 ERA over three games. He did not pitch in the recent extra innings game against the Marlins, where the Dodgers secured a walk-off win.

Matt Sauer’s return marks his third stint with the Dodgers this season. He is expected to contribute in the bullpen game, with his previous outing against the Washington Nationals where he allowed one run over 1.2 innings. The Dodgers signed Sauer to a Minor League contract in the offseason and included him in their travel roster for the Tokyo Series.

This rotation change comes as the Dodgers prepare for an eight-game homestand, having dropped their last game against the Cubs, where they faced a tough battle that ended in defeat.

Looking ahead, the Dodgers hope to stabilize their pitching performance, with Dreyer starting Tuesday’s opener, and Sauer likely joining the mix in relief as the team aims to improve their record.
