Dodgers Tyler Glasnow Pitching Leg Cramps

LOS ANGELES, CA — Tyler Glasnow, the Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander, exited Sunday’s game in the fifth inning due to leg cramps. The 31-year-old pitched four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out six batters.

Glasnow, who suffered an elbow sprain that sidelined him towards the end of the previous season and during the playoffs, is among several Dodgers pitchers currently dealing with injuries. The Dodgers’ starting rotation is already thin, with Blake Snell on the injured list. Both Tony Gonsolin and Clayton Kershaw are on rehab assignments, with Kershaw not eligible to return until late May.

Despite the setback, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expressed optimism, stating he expects Glasnow to start next Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. At the spring camp, Glasnow mentioned he is making mechanical adjustments to maintain his health throughout the season. “I feel athletic and free and good,” he said at Camelback Ranch.

Last season, Glasnow pitched a career-high 134 innings before his injury. He was anticipated to play a key role in the postseason but was sidelined due to injury. Currently, he holds a 3.71 ERA in four starts this season, with 23 strikeouts.

While the season is in its early stages, Glasnow’s minor injury raises concerns, given the injury troubles already affecting the Dodgers pitching staff. However, the hope remains that he will be ready for his start against the Pirates on Sunday.
