Dolphins’ Alec Ingold Returns to Hometown Lambeau Field for Thanksgiving Game
Miami Dolphins fullback Alec Ingold is set to make a memorable homecoming as he prepares to play at historic Lambeau Field on Thanksgiving. A native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ingold has a deep connection to the iconic stadium, having dreamed of playing there since he was a child.
Ingold recalled a vivid memory from his youth when he attended a family wedding reception at Lambeau Field. He spent hours gazing out at the field, envisioning himself playing there one day. This vision became a reality as he played at Lambeau in Pop Warner football, a college game with the University of Wisconsin against LSU, and even in his first professional season with the Oakland Raiders in 2019.
For Ingold, this Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers is more than just a matchup; it’s a return to his hometown and a chance to relive cherished memories. “It’s going to be a really cool honor to be able to be on that field, especially for Thanksgiving,” Ingold said. “There’s been a lot of memories there for a lot of people growing up in that area.”
Ingold, a Pro Bowl selection last year, has been dealing with a calf injury that has limited his playing time. However, his potential return to extensive snaps could be crucial for the Dolphins’ run game, especially in the cold weather conditions expected for the game.
In other Dolphins news, the team is facing a decision regarding outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett, who has applied for reinstatement from retirement. The Dolphins must decide by 4 p.m. on Thursday whether to accept his return or decline to activate him, which would prevent him from playing for the Dolphins for the remainder of the 2024 season.
