Dominik Mysterio Hints at TNA Wrestling Showdown
Nashville, Tennessee — Dominik Mysterio, a star on WWE‘s Monday Night Raw, has teased a potential appearance in TNA Wrestling, sparking excitement among fans. During a recent episode of the Battleground Podcast, Mysterio spoke about the growing partnership between WWE and TNA and hinted at a possible match with TNA World Champion Joe Hendry.
Mysterio, who made his WWE debut without a prior run in NXT or the independent wrestling circuit, has quickly established himself as a prominent figure in WWE, even holding the NXT North American Title in 2023. In reference to a specific competitor, Mysterio stated, ‘I can’t say I’m too focused on anybody in TNA, but I don’t like to say his name. I think we know who we’re talking about. He just beat Dolph. I’ve beaten Dolph, so, yeah, I’ll just leave that at that.’ While he didn’t name Hendry, the context made it clear whom he was referencing.
Reflecting on WWE’s history with TNA, Mysterio acknowledged the significance of the ongoing partnership. ‘As far as WWE being able to, like you said, they’re always in their own sandbox. They never really played well with others, as some might say. But I think this is huge. This is such an amazing opportunity for not only WWE, but for TNA.’
Born into a wrestling family, Mysterio described his childhood experiences with TNA, highlighting his godfather, Konnan, who was previously involved in the promotion. ‘I grew up watching all sorts of wrestling. My godfather, Konnan, was on iMPACT!, doing LAX. So, like, I grew up on that, on those guys, and seeing that. Suicide, Christopher Daniels, and all those guys, it was crazy, right?’ he shared.
His enthusiasm was palpable as he stated, ‘I’d love to show up on TNA. Why not? I’d love to go and take over. I went down to NXT and took over NXT. So, why not go down to TNA and take over TNA?’
The announcement of a multi-year partnership between WWE and TNA last month has already led to some talent crossovers, including TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace participating in the Women’s Royal Rumble. Mysterio’s anticipation of a TNA engagement signals that more crossover moments may unfold soon.
As Dominik Mysterio sets his sights on a potential confrontation with Joe Hendry, fans are eager to see if ‘Dirty Dom’ will indeed make his way into a TNA ring in the near future.
