Don Felder Talks Relationship with Eagles Ahead of Summer Tour

Las Vegas, NV — Don Felder, former member of the legendary rock band Eagles, recently shared insights about his relationship with the remaining band members during an interview on Sirius XM. Despite some past tension, Felder revealed that they are on surprisingly good terms.
While Felder expressed that he would “absolutely” accept an invitation from Don Henley to join the band during their Las Vegas residency at The Sphere, he also noted that such an invite seems unlikely. “I’ll tell you this, I’m not holding my breath,” Felder stated during the interview.
When asked about the current dynamics with his former bandmates, Felder was candid. He admitted that he has had “no conversations with them” regarding the issues that led to his departure from the band in 2001. Nonetheless, he conveyed that while they are cordial, they are not close friends.
Felder was a key member of the Eagles from 1974 until their split in 2001, contributing to many of their biggest hits. He was also part of the band during their 14-year hiatus from the 1980s to the mid-1990s. The interpersonal drama that often affects successful rock bands, including disputes over pay, was a factor in his exit.
Despite any past differences, Felder asserted in 2025 that it’s all “water under the bridge.” He mentioned that he occasionally bumps into his former bandmates, and they remain cordial. “I really kind of buried all the hatchets in 2000,” he added.
This summer, Felder will tour with Styx and Kevin Cronin. His latest album, “The Vault – 50 Years Of Music,” is set to be released on May 23.
