Luka Doncic Lebron James Los Angeles Lakers Partnership

Los Angeles, CA – Luka Doncic’s recent trade to the Los Angeles Lakers has quickly transformed the team dynamic, as the 25-year-old star has made his mark in only four games since joining from the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 1.

The addition of Doncic has simplified the game for many of his new teammates. Forward Dorian Finney-Smith reported on Monday that he has been experiencing more opportunities to shoot open baskets since Doncic’s arrival. ‘I’m getting butt-naked wide-open shots now that defenses have to account for both Doncic and [LeBron] James,’ said Finney-Smith, according to The Athletic.

Despite struggling with his shooting in the three games he has played alongside Doncic, Finney-Smith acknowledged that he has been rushing his shots. Nevertheless, he expressed gratitude for the quality of looks he is receiving, noting that they are better than ever before.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised Doncic’s influence on the court, emphasizing his ability to alleviate pressure for teammates. ‘Part of what makes him brilliant is he makes the game easy for everybody else,’ Redick noted, highlighting the synergy emerging between Doncic and other Lakers players.

Doncic’s ability to attack the basket keeps opposing defenses honest and opens up opportunities for his teammates to make plays. His early contributions are already being felt throughout the locker room, as players adjust to the dynamic he brings to the team.
