Donny Osmond Appeals for Caution as Hurricane Milton Approaches Florida
Donny Osmond, the renowned American singer, took to social media to express his concern as Hurricane Milton approached the Florida coastline. The storm, which has regained strength as a Category 5 hurricane, is anticipated to hit the region today. In a touching message to the public, Osmond, aged 66, urged people to “heed the warnings” provided by authorities and prioritize safety during this challenging period.
Osmond’s appeal comes at a time when communities are still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Helene, which struck the United States two weeks prior, causing significant damage. In his heartfelt note, Osmond stated, “Praying for everyone affected by Hurricane Helene, and I hope and pray everyone stays safe with Milton on its way.” He added, “Please heed the warnings from your authorities. Reach out and help your neighbour when possible during this tough time.”
His social media post quickly garnered attention, with many of his 211,000 followers expressing gratitude and agreement. One respondent commented, “Thank you for your kindness,” while another added, “Beautifully said, Donny! I agree 110%.” A third follower remarked, “Prayers are going out to all those in the path of Hurricane Milton and those still picking up the pieces after Hurricane Helene.”
Hurricane Milton is recognized as one of the most powerful storms in recent years to form in the North Atlantic. Thousands of residents have evacuated as the storm escalated, although forecasts suggest it may weaken before making landfall.
In a separate update, Donny Osmond announced his upcoming return to the UK stage. He is set to perform as the Pharaoh in the musical ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ during its festive season at Edinburgh Playhouse, beginning December 3. Osmond, who previously portrayed the role of Joseph over 2,000 times, shared his excitement over the new role, stating, “I always knew I would return to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
