The future of San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw remains uncertain as the NFL free agency period approaches. Greenlaw, who has been a key player for the 49ers, could be leaving the team after the 2024 NFL season, according to hints from teammate Fred Warner‘s wife, Sydney Warner.

Sydney Warner posted a TikTok video showing a surprise party for Greenlaw’s fiancĂ©, Mikaela Gallagher, with a caption suggesting the couple might be relocating due to free agency. The caption read, “POV: Your team didn’t make the playoffs and the NFL free agency is taking your best friend [Gallagher] to another team and we are all severely unwell.”

Later, Sydney Warner posted a longer video on Instagram, expressing hope that Greenlaw might stay with the 49ers. She wrote, “praying to the football gods that they keep us together.” Gallagher also commented on the post, stating, “SO thankful for the family we’ve built here and praying SO HARD we’ll be back!!!!❤️❤️ Love you forever my girl.”

Greenlaw’s teammates have voiced their support for his return, and Greenlaw himself has expressed his love for the team and the Bay Area. However, no official statements have been made by Greenlaw or the 49ers regarding his future with the team.

As the free agency period draws closer, the 49ers and their fans will be watching closely to see if Greenlaw remains a part of the team or if he will be moving on to a new chapter in his career.
