Drew Timme G League Highlights

LONG ISLAND, NY — Drew Timme, a 6-foot-10 forward and three-time Division 1 All-American from Gonzaga, continues to elevate his game in the G League. On Tuesday night, despite the Long Island Nets’ 110-93 loss to the Westchester Knicks, Timme delivered a standout performance, scoring a career-high 40 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Timme, 24, has been on a scoring spree, averaging 30.0 points per game over the past four contests while shooting 43.5% from three-point range. His performance on Tuesday not only surpassed his previous career-high of 31 points, but also solidified his position as a leading candidate for a potential NBA call-up.

Throughout the game, Timme showcased his scoring ability and versatility, hitting 15 of 24 shots, including 4 of 8 from beyond the arc, and going a perfect 3 for 3 from the free-throw line. In addition to his scoring, Timme contributed with four assists, two steals, and a block, reinforcing his impact on both ends of the court.

“My goal has always been to reach the NBA, and I’m doing everything I can to make it happen,” Timme said following the game. “Every night, I just focus on improving and helping my team win.”

Terry Roberts, Long Island’s newly appointed starting point guard, also had a noteworthy performance, achieving a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists, along with seven rebounds and two steals. However, the Nets faced challenges off the bench, as the second unit managed to score only eight points, with Mark Armstrong contributing five and Oshae Brissett adding three.

In contrast, Westchester’s Moses Brown, a former Brooklyn Net, dominated the game, leading his team with 28 points and 15 rebounds. The Knicks benefited from a strong third quarter, outscoring Long Island 38-16, which gave them a commanding 24-point lead entering the final quarter.

Despite outscoring Westchester 32-25 in the fourth quarter, Long Island could not overcome the deficit. The team’s shooting struggles were evident, as they connected on only 36 of 94 shots, including a dismal 10 of 38 from three-point range. Furthermore, their bench players shot a combined 3 for 24.

<p“The shooting is something we need to improve if we're going to compete,” said Long Island head coach. “We had moments of intensity and effort, but we can't afford to have stretches where we don't score.”

The Long Island Nets are now 12-14 on the season and look to kickstart a playoff push when they face the Memphis Hustle (12-13) on Thursday night. The game will be broadcast live from Place Bell in Laval, Quebec, starting at 7:00 p.m. ET on the NBA G-League and Long Island Nets’ websites.
