Drew Timme Brooklyn Nets G League Performance

BROOKLYN, New York – Drew Timme is officially joining the Brooklyn Nets on a two-year contract following a remarkable performance with the Long Island Nets in the NBA G League. The announcement was made on March 27, 2025, confirming Timme’s first standard NBA contract after a series of ups and downs since going undrafted in 2023.

Timme’s signing comes after his recognition as G League Player of the Week, during which he averaged 35.7 points and 12.7 rebounds over three games, including a career-high 50-point game against the Motor City Cruise on March 22. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported on the deal, highlighting Timme’s impressive statistics and impactful game.

Standing at 6-foot-10, Timme demonstrated his scoring prowess and playmaking ability while averaging 23.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 29 regular season games with Long Island, shooting 57.4% from the field. His success in G League directly contributed to his return to the NBA following previous stints with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Sacramento Kings’ G League affiliates.

“It’s great to find a place where you’re given an opportunity to really be able to show what you have,” Timme shared with NetsDaily shortly after the signing. “It’s exactly what I wanted when the trade went through, and I couldn’t be happier to be here.”

Timme’s journey began at Gonzaga University, where he flourished as a collegiate player, accumulating accolades as a three-time All-American. After his college career, he signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Milwaukee in 2023 but was waived after the preseason, spending the majority of the subsequent season with the Wisconsin Herd, where he averaged just 9.0 points and 6.3 rebounds before a foot fracture ended his season.

In December, he joined the Stockton Kings, where he began to regain form, prompting a trade to Long Island. His performance with the Long Island Nets has transformed his prospects, as he transitioned seamlessly into the G League, where he quickly became a standout player.

The Brooklyn Nets currently have 14 players on their standard roster, allowing for Timme’s immediate addition without any corresponding move. The remaining nine games of the regular season present an opportunity for Timme to prove himself at the NBA level, as Brooklyn has struggled this season with a standing of 23-50.

With aspirations to solidify his place in the NBA, Timme emphasized the importance of consistency and development during his time in the G League. “The point of the G League is to develop, continue to get better, and get to where you want to go,” he stated. “That’s the goal, that’s the dream, and maybe one day it will happen.”
