F1 Drivers Parade in Miami Features Life-Size LEGO Cars

MIAMI, Florida — In a unique twist to the traditional drivers’ parade, all 20 Formula 1 drivers took to the track in life-size, drivable LEGO cars at the Miami International Autodrome on Sunday. This colorful display, marking the 2025 FORMULA 1 CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX, showcased the creativity of the LEGO Group and highlighted their ongoing partnership with Formula 1.
The specially designed vehicles were created by a team of 26 designers and engineers, taking over 22,000 hours to complete at the LEGO Group’s factory in Kladno, Czech Republic. Each car, nearly a 1:1 scale replica of actual F1 vehicles, is made up of approximately 400,000 LEGO bricks, weighs 1,000 kg, and can reach speeds of 20 kilometers per hour.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer at Formula 1, expressed excitement about the event. “As a sport synonymous with innovation and pushing boundaries, it was amazing to see another first for our sport with the big builds,” she said. “Our partnership with the LEGO Group allows us to bring fun into the Grand Prix experience and engage new audiences.”
Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, noted the initiative’s novelty. “This latest challenge marks an extraordinary collaboration between LEGO and Formula 1, demonstrating that with imagination, there are limitless possibilities,” she stated.
After the event, all 10 LEGO big builds will embark on a global tour, appearing at future races to delight fans worldwide. The uniqueness of the project not only enthralls fans but also strengthens the bond between these two popular brands.
