Duet Night Abyss Character Gacha System

City, State – Duet Night Abyss has transformed the traditional gacha system by allowing players to access characters and weapons for free through gameplay rather than random pulls. This shift came with the latest update on October 28, 2025, emphasizing player engagement in the main story and quest completion.

In a significant departure from typical gacha mechanics, all character and weapon acquisition will now rely on gameplay, while gacha pulls are reserved exclusively for cosmetic items. Players can focus on securing their desired skins and outfits instead of worrying about obtaining powerful characters.

The only gacha component left is the Myriad Banner system, which includes the permanent Starlight Rondo banner and limited-time event banners. Players can obtain various cosmetics, from character outfits and weapon skins to a selection of accessories.

Item rarity is categorized into three tiers: blue, purple, and gold. Blue-tier items boast a high drop rate of 94.6%, while purple-tier items have a drop rate of 5.1% with a guaranteed drop every ten pulls. However, the coveted golden-tier items are much rarer, with only a 0.3% drop chance.

To mitigate frustration, a pity system guarantees a golden-tier item within 90 pulls. Each banner track resets with new limited-time events, making strategic planning essential for players aiming to maximize their resources.

Currency for pulling items includes Phoxene and two types of hourglass currencies, each associated with different banner types. Players need 160 Phoxene or one hourglass for a single pull, while ten pulls cost 1,600 of the respective currency.

A new character unlock method, titled the Secret Letter system, requires players to gather clues, exchange them for character-specific letters, and complete Covert Commissions to unlock characters permanently. This process encourages players to engage in story quests and daily challenges.

Seven characters are automatically added to players’ rosters through early story progression, providing an early advantage without excessive grinding. Among these are Berenica, a DPS character, and Daphne, a healer with area-of-effect capabilities.

While limited rerolling attempts for exclusive cosmetics can offer added value for some players, many will benefit more from pursuing gameplay that enhances their character roster and abilities.
