Duke Dominates Stanford with 106-70 Victory in ACC Showdown

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke University men’s basketball team secured a decisive 106-70 win over Stanford on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, marking their second consecutive victory after an earlier loss in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Blue Devils moved to 22-3 overall and 14-1 in ACC play with this impressive performance.
Tyrese Proctor led the way for Duke, matching his season high with 23 points. He shot 9-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Proctor’s scoring prowess was critical as he contributed 17 points in the first half alone, helping Duke build a substantial lead early in the game.
Duke’s offensive display was bolstered by Cooper Flagg, who added 19 points, and Khaman Maluach with 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Sion James and Caleb Foster rounded out the scoring effort, each contributing 14 and 10 points respectively, with James also dropping six assists and Maluach grabbing six rebounds.
The Blue Devils’ team efficiency was evident as they posted a 62.5 shooting percentage from the field and recorded 23 assists against just five turnovers, achieving a remarkable 4.6 assist-turnover ratio for the game. Flagg and James each provided six assists, showcasing Duke’s teamwork and ball movement throughout the matchup.
This win also marked Duke’s highest point total in a regulation ACC game since their matchup against Florida State in December 2017, when they scored 100 points. The 36-point victory was the second-largest margin of victory for Duke under head coach Jon Scheyer, only surpassed by the 43-point rout against Georgia Tech in January 2023.
“Tyrese has been phenomenal lately, and his ability to score in multiple ways really opens up our offense,” Scheyer commented after the game. “The team did a great job of sharing the ball and finding the open man, which showed in our assist numbers.”
Next, the Blue Devils will travel to Virginia to face the Cavaliers on Monday, Feb. 17, at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the Duke men’s basketball team on social media for the latest updates.
