Durant’s Late Heroics Lead Rockets Past Bucks 122-115
MILWAUKEE, WI — Kevin Durant scored 31 points and hit a tiebreaking shot with 1:42 left to secure a 122-115 victory for the Houston Rockets over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. Houston rebounded from a loss in San Antonio two nights earlier to complete a three-game trip.
The Rockets have now won six of their last seven games and will return home for the next three contests. Durant shot 11 of 15 from the field and recorded a season-high seven assists. Teammate Alperen Sengun added 23 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, while Jabari Smith and Reed Sheppard each contributed 16 points.
For Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 37 points and eight rebounds but struggled from the foul line, making just 1 of 4 attempts in the final 89 seconds of the game. Bucks guard Rollins also scored 19 points. Milwaukee’s poor free-throw shooting continued as they finished the game with 14 of 24 from the line.
The game saw Houston trailing for most of the contest until late in the fourth quarter when they outscored Milwaukee 22-7 in the final minutes. Smith hit a three-pointer to give the Rockets a 113-111 lead, marking their first advantage since the opening quarter.
Rollins quickly tied it with a layup, but Durant’s pull-up jumper restored Houston’s lead for good. Antetokounmpo had a chance to tie the game but missed both free throws after being fouled. Sengun then scored on a driving layup and completed a three-point play with 23 seconds left on the clock.
Houston will next host the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, while the Bucks are set to visit the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
