In Singapore on September 21, 2024, the team behind dVIN, a protocol aiming to integrate the $1 trillion wine industry into blockchain technology, announced the launch of its native token, VINCOIN ($VIN), alongside an airdrop of 3,000 bottles of champagne during the Solana Breakpoint event. This gesture was described as a token of appreciation for Solana’s dedicated community by dVIN Labs.

The airdrop included a limited-edition NFT, titled “Digital Cork,” which symbolizes a bottle of champagne. Each NFT uniquely features the profile picture (PFP) of the holder from the Mad Lads community on the front label of the champagne bottle. Renowned Co-Founder and CEO of dVIN Labs, David Garrett, highlighted the uniqueness of this launch event, stating, “The technical capabilities alongside the passion, creativity, and dedication of communities like the Mad Lads motivated us to build the first native token for the luxury wine industry on Solana.”

Starting October 21, Mad Lads holders have the opportunity to redeem their Digital Cork NFT for a physical bottle of rare Montgolfière Brut from Champagne Salmon, with international shipping available globally. Jana Kreilein, also a Co-Founder of dVIN Labs, expressed gratitude towards the support received from the community and indicated future plans for more “innovative real-world asset focused activations.”

The launch of $VIN during the event included a special airdrop of champagne with a custom Breakpoint label, collectively valued at $1 million, thereby increasing the total champagne tokenized on the dVIN protocol between September 17 and September 21 to $2 million. VINCOIN is currently available on Jupiter Exchange, with further listings to follow.

dVIN Labs stands as a development team focused on integrating DePIN, data, and tokenization within the wine industry, leveraging blockchain technology to monetize data use and enhance consumer-winemaker relationships. The protocol offers wine enthusiasts rewards for their activity, driving efficiency and profitability in wine-related business transactions.
