NBA legends Dwight Howard and Shaquille O'Neal have reignited their long-standing feud in a heated exchange on social media. The two former Orlando Magic centers, who have been at odds for years, traded barbs on X (formerly Twitter) this week, with Howard accusing O’Neal of being insecure and jealous of his career.

The spat began when Howard made comments about O’Neal during a recent interview, prompting O’Neal to respond on X. O’Neal wrote, ‘The fact you think I care about you is funny, but I won’t ever bring your name up again, sensitive big man, a jokester that can’t take a joke. Won’t ever say your name again ever again. Have a great day and now you have been deleted.’

Howard fired back with a lengthy post, calling O’Neal ‘insecure’ and accusing him of harboring jealousy toward other NBA stars, including Kobe Bryant, Penny Hardaway, Dwyane Wade, and Charles Barkley. Howard wrote, ‘I know you care. Cuz yo insecure a** been hating and talking s**t for 20 years. You too big to be this insecure. I hope you don’t bring my name up again. 52 years old tweeting me. And still hating.’

The feud between the two centers dates back to their overlapping careers in the NBA. Both Howard and O’Neal began their careers with the Orlando Magic, where they each led the team to the NBA Finals but fell short of winning a championship. They later played for the Los Angeles Lakers, with O’Neal winning three titles with the team and Howard securing one in 2020.

O’Neal retired after the 2011 season, while Howard last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season. Despite their shared history and success, the two have frequently clashed, with O’Neal often criticizing Howard’s career and personality in media appearances.

The latest exchange has drawn attention from fans and analysts, many of whom have taken sides in the ongoing rivalry. While some have criticized the public nature of the feud, others see it as a continuation of the competitive spirit that defined both players’ careers.
