SALT LAKE CITY – Forward Dylan Guenther, after agreeing to an eight-year contract with the Utah Hockey Club, has rapidly proven his value with standout performances in both preseason and the team’s inaugural regular season game. Notably, Guenther scored the first-ever goal in the Utah Hockey Club’s history during their home opener.

The 21-year-old forward caught the attention of the club’s executives after an impressive previous season, where he notched 35 points over 45 games. His signing was announced with excitement on the official Utah Hockey Club’s social media, signaling high expectations for his future contributions.

“Here for the long haul. 👊 We’ve signed Dylan Guenther to an eight-year contract,” tweeted the club. This long-term commitment highlights Guenther’s potential as a cornerstone for the franchise’s future.

Guenther is recognized for his precision shooting skills, making him a continual threat on the ice. His ability to find open positions adds depth to his offensive play. “He’s a heck of a player,” said Head Coach André Tourigny. “People see him just as a goal-scorer and he’s way more than that. He handles the puck well, he defends well, he works hard.”

Newly appointed captain Clayton Keller had predicted Guenther would score the historic first goal for the team, a prediction that proved accurate. Guenther’s goal, a powerful one-timer, ignited the crowd at the Delta Center, showcasing his knack for rising to the occasion.

Throughout the match, Guenther and his line dominated, creating numerous scoring opportunities and maintaining tight control in the offensive zone. His efforts culminated in a second goal late in the game, securing a 4-2 win over Chicago.

Guenther’s early performances suggest he will play a significant role on the team, as noted by Keller who praised his hard work and skills. “He’s going to be a huge part of our team and he’s a star for sure,” Keller emphasized.

The Utah Hockey Club is now set to face the New York Islanders, continuing their season on the road. Games are available on SEG+ and via local radio on the KSL Sports APP and 97.5 & 1280 The Zone.
