Jalen Hurts Eagles Practice 2025

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been cleared from the NFL‘s concussion protocol and is set to start in the team’s playoff game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Hurts, who sustained the injury during a game against the Washington Commanders on Dec. 22, returned to full practice this week after limited participation earlier.

“You go through a routine every day, and being out of that is challenging,” Hurts said during a press conference on Friday. “Dealing with different symptoms ain’t fun, either. I’m thankful the refs and everyone did what they were supposed to do [in the Commanders game]. They made the right decision in that moment [to have me tested]. I’m thankful and blessed for that, and now I’m ready to go.”

This marks the first concussion of Hurts’ career. The 25-year-old quarterback also played through a broken finger on his non-throwing hand late in the season. Despite the injuries, Hurts finished the regular season with 2,903 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions, along with 14 rushing touchdowns.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in Hurts’ readiness, noting that the quarterback looked sharp in practice. “We’re always careful with him,” Sirianni said. “He’s our quarterback, so we always want to be careful with him. We always think about his health first and foremost.”

Hurts’ return comes at a critical time for the Eagles, who are preparing to face a Packers team that has evolved significantly since their Week 1 matchup in Brazil. Hurts acknowledged the challenge, stating, “We’re a very different team now, and so are they.”

Wide receiver A.J. Brown, who missed practice Thursday with a knee issue, is expected to play on Sunday. The Eagles also dealt with other minor injuries this week, including tight end Dallas Goedert, who sat out Friday’s practice with back tightness but is also expected to suit up.

Hurts led the Eagles to a 34-29 victory over the Packers in their season opener, throwing for 278 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The stakes are higher this time, as the Eagles aim to advance in the playoffs.
