Eagles’ Jordan Davis Bounces Back with Fitness Focus Ahead of New Season

PHILADELPHIA – Jordan Davis, a 25-year-old defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, is stepping up as the team prepares for the 2025 NFL season. With the departure of Milton Williams, Davis is expected to fill a vital role on the defensive line. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio expressed confidence in Davis, stating, “I think he’s going to do very well for us this year.”
Davis, entering his fourth season, has acknowledged the need for better conditioning in the past. Fangio highlighted that Davis improved significantly during the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning stretch last season. He noted, ‘Jordan last year played very well down the stretch’ and remarked on Davis being in the best shape of his career.
When asked why it took Davis so long to reach peak conditioning, Fangio joked, “For some guys, it takes time. I’m ducking that question.” Davis later explained he found motivation through Peloton workouts, particularly enjoying sessions with instructor Ally Love.
The Eagles are counting on Davis and fellow defensive tackle Moro Ojomo to step up this season. Davis has been recognized for his work ethic, previously struggling with conditioning as a rookie. He declared 2025 as his “year of discipline,” emphasizing the importance of consistent effort, even when it doesn’t feel easy.
During interviews, Davis acknowledged that his past self-doubt has challenged him but emphasized that hard work can overcome these hurdles. ‘I’m human,’ he admitted. ‘But at the end of the day, harder work and better preparation eliminate those self-doubts.’
Fangio is optimistic about Davis’s progress, stating, ‘I think that’s carried over this offseason and I anticipate it carrying over into the season.’ The Eagles hope that with improved physical fitness, Davis can transition from a traditional run-stuffer to a more dynamic pass-rushing presence.
As the Eagles aim for another successful season, the performance of players like Davis will be critical in achieving their goals. The team is looking to build a formidable defense, showcasing the potential of their young talent.
