PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia Eagles have re-signed All-Pro linebacker Zack Baun to a lucrative three-year, $51 million contract, sources confirmed to ESPN on March 5, 2025. This agreement, which includes $34 million guaranteed at signing and an additional $1.5 million in performance incentives, positions Baun among the highest-paid linebackers in the NFL.

The Eagles’ announcement came amid a flurry of recent contract activity, as Baun’s deal follows a two-year, $41.2 million extension granted to running back Saquon Barkley just a day earlier, making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history.

Baun, 28, experienced a breakout season in 2024. Initially signed to a modest one-year contract worth $3.5 million, Baun transitioned from a rotational edge rusher to an inside linebacker under the guidance of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. He thrived in this new role, finishing the regular season with 151 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and five forced fumbles, earning First-Team All-Pro honors.

“Zack Baun’s performance last season was nothing short of exceptional,” said ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who broke the news. “To see him go from a one-year deal to this major extension showcases his growth and impact on the field.”

Baun’s impressive play extended into the playoffs, where he tallied 33 tackles, two interceptions, and contributed significantly to the team’s Super Bowl triumph. During Super Bowl LIX, he recorded a key interception, emphasizing his value to the Eagles’ defense.

Originally selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, Baun played four seasons with the team, accumulating 239 tackles and two sacks before joining the Eagles. His transformation into an elite linebacker in just one season has been a remarkable story in the league.

As Baun continues to establish his legacy in Philadelphia, fans and analysts are eager to see how he will build upon his All-Pro season in the upcoming 2025 campaign.
