Eagles Sign Kendall Lamm to Bolster Offensive Line Depth

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Eagles have signed offensive tackle Kendall Lamm, bolstering their offensive line depth following the loss of Fred Johnson. Lamm’s signing was confirmed by NFL insider Peter Schrager on Monday.
Lamm, 32, is entering his tenth season in the NFL after entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Over the course of his career, he has made 45 starts in 127 games, including playoffs, with previous teams including the Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, and Tennessee Titans.
Most recently, Lamm played for the Miami Dolphins, where he started seven games in the 2024 season. His performance earned him a respectable ranking as the 33rd best offensive tackle out of 85, according to Pro Football Focus statistics from last season. Historically, Lamm has been noted for his stronger performance as a pass protector compared to run-blocking.
However, Lamm is recovering from a season-ending back injury that required surgery. The Eagles’ decision to sign him likely involved evaluating his medical situation closely. If Lamm’s health checks out, his experience at both left and right tackle provides essential depth for the Eagles, especially with the team’s recent loss of swing tackle Fred Johnson.
As a versatile player, Lamm has accumulated significant snap counts at various positions: Left tackle (1,003), Left guard (1), and Right tackle (1,731). Over recent seasons, his career snap counts by position illustrate his adaptability, providing the Eagles with options as they prepare for the upcoming season:
- 2015: LT 1, RT 116
- 2016: LT 40, RT 26
- 2017: LT 129
- 2018: LT 1, RT 927
- 2019: LT 3, LG 1, RT 782
- 2020: LT 129, RT 50
- 2021: LT 78
- 2022: LT 32
- 2023: LT 520, RT 932
- 2024: LT 70, RT 44
Adding Lamm does not eliminate the possibility of the Eagles selecting another offensive tackle in the upcoming NFL Draft to compete for the swing tackle position. However, it provides the team with solid veteran presence should younger players, like Darian Kinnard, not live up to expectations.
As the Eagles continue to refine their lineup ahead of the 2025 season, Lamm’s experience and versatility could prove invaluable as they work to maintain a competitive edge in a league filled with talented defenses.
