Eagles Re-sign Offensive Lineman Matt Pryor on One-Year Deal

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Matt Pryor is returning to the Philadelphia Eagles after agreeing to a one-year deal on Thursday. The offensive lineman originally joined the Eagles as a sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and has played for multiple teams since then.
Pryor, 30, spent his initial seasons with the Eagles before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2021. He then played for the San Francisco 49ers in 2023 and had a standout season with the Chicago Bears last year, participating in all 17 games and starting 15 at offensive guard.
According to a report from Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles are focused on strengthening their offensive line depth amidst a busy offseason. Last season, Pryor earned a grade of 69.9 from Pro Football Focus, ranking as the 21st highest graded offensive guard in the league among players who completed at least 344 snaps.
During his last season in Chicago, Pryor demonstrated notable versatility, playing 895 snaps at right guard, 49 at left guard, 59 at right tackle, and one at left tackle. His ability to adapt to multiple positions makes him a significant addition to the Eagles’ offensive front.
Prior to rejoining the Eagles, Pryor’s performance in the 2024 season was particularly impressive, as he was rated fifth in the league for pass-blocking with a grade of 78.1. This notably surpassed Mekhi Becton, the Eagles’ current starting right guard, who recorded a pass-blocking grade of 60.1.
“I’m excited to come back to Philadelphia and contribute to the team,” Pryor said in a statement. “I look forward to working with the coaches and helping the Eagles continue their success.”
The Eagles’ need for linemen was heightened following the departure of Becton, who signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. The team has also added Kendall Lamm, another offensive tackle, to help fill gaps left by free agents.
Pryor’s overall experience, including 92 games played and 39 starts in the NFL, positions him as a key player in the Eagles’ strategy to reinforce their offensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season.
