Super Bowl Lix Celebration Philadelphia Eagles

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Philadelphia Eagles clinched their victory in Super Bowl LIX on February 12, 2025, cementing their status as champions of the 2024-25 NFL season. With celebrations still resonating through the city, attention is swiftly shifting to the offseason as teams prepare for free agency and the draft.

Free agency kicks off on March 12, with a legal-contact window beginning two days earlier on March 10. As franchises analyze their rosters in hopes of dethroning the Eagles, a recent assessment by the Bleacher Report’s Scouting Department highlights the top impending free agents for 2025.

The rankings consider players based on their past performance, potential upside, age, positional value, market depth, and health status. Only those with contracts set to expire are included. Notably absent are presumed free agents like New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, pending expected trades.

Among the notable names in the 50-player ranking are Mack Hollins of the Buffalo Bills, whose impressive performance as a complementary receiver raised questions about his future away from Buffalo, and Malcolm Koonce of the Las Vegas Raiders, a promising edge rusher coming off a strong season.

“While Hollins didn’t post staggering numbers (31 catches for 378 yards and 5 touchdowns), he was crucial for big plays for quarterback Josh Allen,” the report noted.

Another top prospect, Sebastian Joseph-Day from the Tennessee Titans, garnered attention for his consistent impact as a defensive tackle. Despite the challenges of free agency, age and injury concerns loom for several veterans like Lavonte David of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Bobby Wagner of the Washington Commanders.

Wagner, a nine-time Pro Bowler, remains impactful at age 35, helping Washington reach the NFC title game. However, the uncertainty surrounding his future may limit his next move.

“Teams will weigh the value of a player’s experience against potential issues like age and performance decline,” said an anonymous scout on Wagner’s status.

In addition to experienced players, younger talent such as Kristen Fulton of the Los Angeles Chargers and Aaron Jones from the Minnesota Vikings could bring long-term value to franchises looking to rebuild.

“Fulton demonstrated a strong comeback season with the Chargers, while Jones has proven to be an elite dual-threat running back,” noted an analyst in the report.

In total, a blend of seasoned veterans and up-and-coming talents are poised to hit the market, igniting excitement as teams strategize for the offseason. The pursuit of building a competitive team against a formidable Eagles squad will define the landscape of the NFL in the coming months.
