PARIS, France — Emma Raducanu secured her place in the second round of the French Open on Monday after a hard-fought victory against China’s Wang Xinyu. Raducanu triumphed with a score of 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, and will move on to face the reigning champion, Iga Swiatek.

The match began on Court 8 and quickly turned competitive. Raducanu took the first set, but her energy waned midway through the second as Wang fought back. “I felt really flat at times, especially in the second set,” Raducanu admitted after the match. “But I think the important thing is that I found a way to win.” The decisive third set saw Raducanu regain her focus, establishing a 5-1 lead before closing out the match.
