It Ends With Us’ Now Available for Streaming After $344 Million Box Office Success
Less than two months after its theatrical release, the romance drama film “It Ends With Us” is now available for streaming at home. The movie, inspired by a book of the same name that went viral on TikTok in 2020, had a strong box office performance, grossing $344 million worldwide, including $146 million domestically.
The storyline follows Lily Bloom, portrayed by Blake Lively, who navigates life in Boston as she opens a flower shop. Her life takes a turn when she meets neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid, played by Justin Baldoni. However, Lily begins to see troubling similarities between Ryle and her parents’ abusive relationship, which complicates matters when her first love, Atlas Corrigan, re-enters her life. Corrigan is played by Brandon Sklenar.
Critics provided mixed reviews on platforms such as Rotten Tomatoes, where the movie received a 51% critic score, contrasting with a 91% score from the audience. “It Ends With Us” is now accessible for purchase and rental on various video-on-demand services. Following the path of other Sony films, it is expected to be available on Netflix a few months after release.
Amidst the film’s success, there were rumors of a rift between Lively and Baldoni during production. Sources indicated friction over creative control, with Lively reportedly seeking her own cut of the movie. Despite these reports, co-star Brandon Sklenar urged that any behind-the-scenes tension should not overshadow the film’s messages, particularly its exploration of domestic violence.
Additionally, there is speculation regarding a sequel based on Hoover‘s follow-up book “It Starts With Us.” While sources have suggested no definitive decisions have been made, the book is available in audio format through services such as Audible.
