This monumental effort was significantly bolstered by Harry Brook‘s triple century and Joe Root‘s double century.
Harry Brook’s innings was particularly notable, as it marked the second-fastest triple century in the history of Test cricket. Only India‘s Virender Sehwag has achieved a quicker triple hundred. Brook’s remarkable performance also earned him the distinction of being only the sixth English batter to surpass 300 runs in a single Test innings.
