England secured a resounding victory over Australia in the fourth One Day International (ODI) of the five-match series, winning by 186 runs. The win in this match, held at Lord's in London, allowed England to level the series at 2-2, setting up a decisive final match.

Rain affected the fourth ODI, reducing it to a 39-over-a-side game. Australia, having won the toss, elected to field first. However, this decision did not work in their favor as England posted an imposing total of 312 for 5 in their allotted overs.

England’s innings was spearheaded by their captain, Harry Brook, who played a pivotal knock, scoring 87 runs off just 58 balls, including 11 boundaries and a six. Ben Duckett contributed with 63 runs from 63 deliveries. Meanwhile, Liam Livingstone provided fireworks towards the end, smashing an unbeaten 62 off just 27 balls with three fours and seven sixes, achieving a strike rate of 229.63.

Chasing a challenging target of 313, Australia faltered under pressure as they were bowled out for 126 in 24.4 overs. England’s bowlers dominated, with Matthew Potts leading the attack by claiming four wickets. Brydon Carse picked up three wickets, while Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid took two and one wicket respectively. Travis Head was the top scorer for Australia, scoring 34 runs off 23 balls.

The series, which has witnessed fluctuating fortunes for both teams, comes to an exciting conclusion with the final match scheduled for September 29. England’s performance has revitalized their hopes, after initially trailing in the series following losses in the first two encounters.
