England U19s Show Character in Friendly Against USA
England’s Under-19 national team displayed resilience in a friendly match against the USA at the Complexe Mohammed VI.
The Young Lions found themselves trailing early in the game but fought back twice, with Bailey Cadamarteri and Leo Castledine scoring crucial goals.
Shortly after falling behind, England was awarded a penalty following a strong challenge on Travis Patterson, which Cadamarteri confidently converted to level the score.
Despite the USA regaining the lead in the first half, England almost responded immediately with shots from Joshua Duffus and Jamie Donley hitting the woodwork.
In the second half, the USA extended their lead with a goal on the counterattack, but England quickly reduced the deficit once more as substitute Castledine headed in a cross.
England pushed hard for an equalizer in the closing stages, but the USA managed to hold on for the win, concluding a competitive international break for the Young Lions.
