Entrepreneur Power Couple Transforms Brad Pitt’s Former Malibu Beach House into Family Oasis
Entrepreneurs Jens Grede and Emma Grede have recently transformed Brad Pitt’s former Malibu beach house into a family oasis that encapsulates their vision of paradise.
The stunning property, perched atop a cliff on Encinal Bluffs, boasts breathtaking views stretching from Broad Beach to El Matador. Originally commissioned by Paul S. Visher in 1962, the house’s unique positioning, reminiscent of a needle’s tip, showcases the evolution of Californian architecture.
Jens and Emma, known for their fashion-world success and collaboration with celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian, saw the house as a perfect weekend getaway for their family of six, which includes four children ranging from 2 to 10 years old.
After acquiring the property in 2022, the couple enlisted the expertise of designer Hallworth and architect Sorensen to restore the house post the Woolsey Fire damage in 2018. The restoration process focused on preserving the original structure while infusing modern accents to create a harmonious living space.
The interior design features plush furniture, light palettes, and a courtyard centered around an impressive Monterey pine tree. The kitchen was a key focus, with innovative solutions like a slatted bar pavilion and a guillotine window designed to invite the ocean breeze into the home.
Outside, the patio is furnished with lacy copper and rope furniture by Walter Lamb, enhancing the seamless blend of indoor-outdoor living that the Malibu property offers.
The Grede family’s love for California, inspired by cultural icons like the Eagles and the allure of Malibu captured in ‘Beverly Hills, 90210,’ is embodied in their dreamy weekend escape, which has quickly become a cherished family retreat.
